NBC10 meteorologist Doug Kammerer is defecting to crosstown rival CBS3. Kammerer, whose contract expired this week, will not be allowed to go on the air at Channel 3 until his no-compete clause expires in February.

With Kathy Orr entrenched as the chief meteorologist, Kammerer will likely become the weekday morning meteorologist, although his assignment has not been officially announced yet. CBS3 had a vacancy following weekend meteorologist Brooks Tomlin’s recent departure.

Kammerer becomes the third NBC10 employee to go to CBS3, joining news anchor Larry Mendte and Orr.
