UPN 57 wisely re-aired the closing ceremonies of Veterans Stadium.  Here are some of my observations from the special that knocked it out of the ballpark.

Aged the Best - Steve Carlton, Mike Schmidt, Manny Trillo, Jim Bunning, Von Hayes, Dick Allen, Jim Lonborg, Greg Gross, Dallas Green

Aged the Worst - Greg Luzinski, Dick Ruthven, Marty Bystrom, Juan Samuel, Wayne Twitchell.

Best Dressed - The tuxedo-clad Phanatic and the grounds crew, the fans with their plethora of Phillies merchandise.

Worst Dressed - Larry Christenson's burgundy 1979 Sunday uniform.

Not a Dry Eye in the House Moment - When Tug McGraw pulled up in a limousine to re-enact the final pitch to win the 1980 World Series

Missing You - Pete Rose and Richie Ashburn

Most Obscure Phillies - Mike Rogodzinski, Gary Varsho, Randy Ready

Passing of the Torch - When Mike Schmidt held up the arm of Jim Thome

Best Sign - "The Vet's Been Good Thome"

Grammy Award - Skip Dennenberg's music video homage to the Vet - "Concrete and Steel"

Non-Grammy Award - Harry Kalas singing with the professional chorus to "Auld Lang Syne"

Words we won't hear at Citizens Bank Park -  700 Level, Phanavision, Nilon Brothers, Picnic Area, Twi-night Doubleheaders

Non Superstar (Carlton/Schmidt) Fan Favorites - Willie Montanez, Tony Taylor, Jay Johnstone, Jim Eisenreich, John Kruk

Current Hero - Jim Thome

All Nickname Team - Greg "The Bull" Luzinski, "The Dude" or "Nails" Dykstra, "Bake" McBride, Darren "Dutch" Daulton, Kent "Teke" Tekulve, "Tee to Green" Tommy Greene, Larry "L.C." Christenson, Steve "Lefty" Carlton, Frank Edwin "Tug" McGraw, Gene "Geno" Garber, Al "Mr T" Holland, Larry "L.A." Anderson, Mitch "Wild Thing" Williams, "Gentleman" Jim Lonborg, Von "5 for 1" Hayes, Paul "The Pope" Owens, Jim "Eisey" Eisenreich, Dick "Rufus" Ruthven,

What About the "In Memoriam" - It would have been nice if something was mentioned about some of the Phillies who are no longer with us like Bo Diaz and Nino Espinosa.

Error - Gary Matthews was listed as one of the leftfielders, but wasn't at the ceremony.

Alex P. Keaton Lives -  Every time they cut to Phillies GM Ed Wade, I thought of Michael J. Fox.
